The reach of second wave of Corona was far inside Melghat interiors. In the beginning of May, it was clear that some of the villages in Melghat are affected and we need to take action immediately.
Dr. Parvati Halbe, one of the trustees and Dr. archana Phansaklar had a talk with our team in Melghat and they both insisted on awareness program as first step. Online trainings were arranged for the project team. Our Arogya Maitrini, GavMitra and Chilati core group together form this project team. They have started visiting villages and making people aware about corona and precautions to be taken to avoid it.

The team is visiting each house and making list of people showing symptoms of Corona. Such people are then asked to stay in isolation. Those who have major illness are adviced to go to PHC and consult the doctors there. The team is also telling people about vaccination, listening & answering their queries and making them mentally prepared for vaccination.

In our training programs, we are covering every small aspect about corona like 'How to wash hands', 'How to wear Mask', 'What is the necessity of sanitizer', 'Who should stay in isolation & how others should behave with him/her'. We have prepared posters, pamphlets for villages so that they can understand from the pictures. Our aim to to empower local team for the Corona awareness & support work. If required, doctors and volunteers from Pune will go to Melghat. But we need financial help for the masks, PPE kits, sanitizer, cleaning materil and medicines for Melghat. We are also going to provide Corona Kavach Insurance Policy for our local Korku team. We need funds for this too, so making appeal to donate generously.
